A Call for Action
Several gruesome incidents of rape, murder, domestic violence and abuse of women and children were reported in the media in September and October 2007. Amongst responses WMW circulated to the media during this period calling for action to protect the rights of women and children, was a letter written by WMW's Training Coordinator, Hilary Nicholson.

Women, Media & Politics
The October 2007 issue of WMW's newsmagazine explores women's roles in politics, and how the media and society treat women politicians. The issue was timely as Portia Simpson-Miller, Jamaica's first female Prime Minister lost her seat in governmental elections held in August 2007.
